Beyond Voting Podcast
Beyond Voting is not just a podcast; it’s a call to action. Emily Williams, the Executive Director of the Arcus Center and a gender studies scholar, brings her vast experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) to the forefront as she explores how all Americans can collectively reimagine and rebuild our democracy beyond the ballot box. Each episode features in-depth conversations with thought leaders, activists, and educators who discuss the state of our institutions and systems of oppression, offering actionable strategies to advance human rights, gender equality, and social justice including 2008 Green Party VP Candidate Rosa Clemente; author and cofounder of BYP 100, Charlene Carruthers; and social worker, author and activist Feminista Jones.
“We created Beyond Voting for people who care deeply about the world we live in and the conditions we’re under,” says Williams. “This podcast is rooted in the conviction that democracy requires more participation than just voting. It’s up to all of us to take action if we want to see real change.”
